The tropical low pressure generated near the Philippines waters has eventually developed into the raging “Talim”, the No. 4 typhoon this year. As a result, on the morning of July 17, a typhoon red alert was in effect for Maonan District, Hi-tech Zone, Binhai New Area, and Dianbai District in Maoming City.

Ubridge has acted swiftly to get typhoon defense standby.

Chairman, CEO, and Company Executives Visited the Frontline to Inspect and Guide Typhoon and Flood Prevention

To implement the guiding principles of typhoon and flood prevention in Maoming City and Fangchenggang City, CEO Mr. Zhang Zhicheng issued the "Notice on Strengthening the Prevention of Typhoon ‘Talim’" on July 16th, making meticulous arrangements and deployments for prevention work.

On the morning of July 17, Chairman Mr. Li Lvhua, CEO Mr. Zhang Zhicheng, Deputy General Manager Mr. Wu Jun and Mr. Li Yuxuan, and other leaders came to High-tech Factory to supervise and inspect typhoon and flood prevention measures.

After inspecting the on-site typhoon prevention and flood prevention measures of the High-tech Factory, an emergency management meeting for typhoon and flood prevention was held.

Chairman Li emphasized that measures of typhoon and flood prevention must be faultless. All departments should be highly vigilant according to the emergency plan and implement the typhoon prevention measures:

First, sufficient sandbags and water barriers should be prepared to secure important areas such as workshop gates, warehouses, electromechanical rooms, and ore piles covered with tarpaulins. Duty shifts for tracking should be conducted in a timely manner. Also, ensure that the drainage system in the plant is unobstructed. Second, inspection of the dead ends and blind angles of workshops should be strengthened to eliminate potential safety hazards, such as debris or slipped iron sheets, which should be secured in a timely manner. Third, follow the typhoon prevention requirements of the Hi-tech Zone to arrange production shutdown properly, implement shifts of the plant-level cadres on duty, and enforce emergency response responsibilities.

CEO Mr. Zhang Zhicheng emphasized that the High-tech Factory should utilize the resources in hand and learn from the management mode of Guangxi Ubridge's one-grade work safety standardization, so as to improve the emergency documents and records to continuously enhance the safety management of the High-tech Factory. The factory manager's safety responsibility management mechanism should also be implemented to globalize factory management.

Deputy General Manager Mr. Li Yuxuan instructed that typhoon prevention should not be slacked off, for "Over defense is better than no defense”. In case of a typhoon strike, every effort should be made to ensure a quick and safe evacuation of production site personnel. Personal safety of employees should always be the first priority.

Guangxi Ubridge Activated the Contingency Plan, Strengthening the Inspection on Typhoon Days

According to the development forecast of typhoon "Talim" issued by the National Meteorological Center of CMA, "Talim" is very likely to make a second landing on the coast of Beibu Gulf in Guangxi after its first landing on the coast of Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province. Chairman Li instructed the heads of Guangxi Ubridge through telephone to immediately convene the 4th Typhoon "Talim" defense deployment meeting and require immediate implementation of prevention measures.

Chairman Li instructed on the phone that, to implement typhoon prevention measures properly, inspection patrols should be arranged to ensure an unobstructed drainage system and adequate waterproofing measures. Sufficient emergency supplies and epidemic prevention materials should be stocked up. Close attention should be paid to the development of the typhoon at the same time to prepare for the emergency response in advance and strictly implement safety management. Duty shifts should be arranged and followed strictly to maintain smooth communication and swift response, so as to prevent safety accidents from occurring.

Guangxi Ubridge's Fang Gan, Feng Man, Li Dong, and other plant leaders led the emergency response team to carry out the investigation on hidden dangers of the plant and implement safety measures. Redeployment, re-checking, and re-implementation of various precautionary measures were also conducted.

Through careful deployment and on-site supervision in advance by the senior management of the company, all production units acted swiftly and deployed multiple measures to be on standby for the defense against typhoon. Typhoon "Talim" eventually did no major damage during its progression, and no major impact was caused to our production. With "Talim" away, our operation and production resumed rapidly, efficiently, and orderly.
