Upon receiving the emergency notification from the Maoming Municipal People's Government Flood Control, Drought Relief and Windstorm Prevention Command, Yagi, the 11th typhoon of the year, landed along the coast from Qionghai in Hainan to Dianbai in Maoming from the afternoon to the night of September 6th. As it was affected by Typhoon Yagi, starting from September 6th, Maoming City faced the severe challenges of strong winds, heavy rainfall and storm surges. The city's emergency response for flood control, drought relief and windstorm prevention had been raised to the highest level. According to the instructions, starting from 22:00 on September 5th, the suspension of classes, work stoppage, production halt, transportation suspension and business closure were implemented citywide.

On the evening of September 5th, the Maoming Meteorological Station issued an emergency typhoon red alert, which is its highest alert level.

In order to fully cope with the attack of Yagi, Ubridge made the Notice on Strengthening the Prevention of Typhoon Yagi on September 5th. In this notice, comprehensive arrangements and deployments were made in terms of the degree of importance attached to it, internal publicity and prevention, and specific preventive measures. It was decided that from 20:00 on September 5th, the construction departments of Guangdong Ubridge High-tech Factory and South China Titanium Valley Project implemented suspension of work, production and construction. Guangxi Ubridge and Guangxi Ubridge Fangchenggang Branch started the emergency preventive program and protective measures in accordance with the typhoon policy of the local government. The company headquarters implemented work from home for 1 day on September 6th.

In order to urge the implementation of each production unit, at 9:00 on September 6th, Mr. Li Lvhua, Chairman of Ubridge, visited Guangdong Ubridge High-tech Factory. He carefully checked the stockpile status of flood control sandbags, drainage pumps, emergency lighting and other typhoon and flood control materials, and gained an understanding of the related management processes and deployment mechanisms. Mr. Li Lvhua emphasized that the reserve of materials is a solid guarantee for the work of typhoon and flood prevention. It was necessary to ensure that the materials were sufficiently stocked, scientifically managed and rapidly deployed to effectively respond to possible emergencies.

In addition, Mr. Li Lvhua also conducted a field survey of raw material warehouses, product warehouses, the degree of smoothness of the drainage pipe and the operation of the drainage facilities. He pointed out that the drainage system was the key link in the plant for typhoon and flood control. It was necessary to timely clean up debris and make every effort to ensure that the drainage was smooth to effectively prevent the occurrence of waterlogging.

At the same time, Mr. Fang Gan, the Regional General Manager of Guangxi Ubridge, went to Guangxi Ubridge and Guangxi Ubridge Fangchenggang Branch at around 9:00. Accompanied by the on-duty leaders of the factory, he conducted on-site inspections and provided guidance on typhoon and flood prevention work. He focused on the wind protection of the steel plant, the rainproofing of raw material and product warehouses, the drainage system around the warehouses, and the safety and stability of the overhead pipe racks. He also conducted the hidden trouble inspections and issued reinforcing requirements.

Mr. Li emphasized that Typhoon Yagi was rapid and destructive. The typhoon and flood prevention work of each production unit is of great responsibility as it is related to the stable operation of the production line and the personal safety of employees. Each department should attach great importance to it, strengthen duty and cooperation, strictly implement all measures for typhoon and flood control work, focus on key areas and key equipment, strengthen investigations to eliminate hidden dangers, ensure the safety of premises and personnel, and with a rigorous and pragmatic attitude and practical and effective measures, do a good job in typhoon and flood prevention work and build a solid line of defense for production safety.

The South China Titanium Valley Project base also made concerted efforts in typhoon and flood prevention work.
