According to the September 1 report from China News and the National Meteorological Center of CMA, affected by this year's Typhoon No. 9 “Saola” and the southbound cold air, in the next three days, central-south Guangdong and southeast Guangxi will have heavy rainfall, accompanied by short-term heavy precipitation in some areas. The maximum hourly rainfall amounts to 40-60 millimeters, and can exceed 80 millimeters in local areas. Strong convective weather such as thunderstorms and gales may occur in some regions.

At 8:00 on August 31, the Flood, Drought and Typhoon Prevention Headquarters Office of Maoming City launched the level  typhoon emergency response. On September 1, the Office issued a “blue typhoon alert” and upgraded the typhoon emergency response to Level , and clearly stated that: “Under the influence of the circulation of Typhoon Saola (Level 17), during September 2 to 4, Maoming will experience strong rainfalls and gales, with the risk of typhoon disaster."

To address the extreme weather, the senior management of Ubridge immediately made a deployment, requesting all production plants to “regard the small probability incidents as large probability threats” and implement effective preventive measures:

1. Each production plant should carefully examine the “Typhoon Emergency Rescue Plan” and make preparations for the deployment of emergency rescue, and strive to minimize the company's losses under the premise of ensuring the safety of personnel in the event of a typhoon attack.

2. Conduct staff-wide education on typhoon defense knowledge, and implement specific countermeasures.

The doors and windows of office buildings and dormitory buildings of all branch plants should be closed tightly. Employees stationed in the plants are required to properly secure outdoor items and hanging objects in the dormitory buildings.

During this typhoon period (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th), all plants should stop working at height and secure the overhead objects/facilities. Special attention should be paid to the inspection and precautionary measures for objects of large areas, such as covering tarpaulins and factory roofs, which are susceptible to the wind.

All plants should formulate and implement a duty system for factory-level leaders during typhoon weather.

3. All plant managers should pay close attention to the development of Typhoon Saola and make flexible precautionary arrangements according to the wind and rainstorm conditions. Timely warnings and alerts should be issued to employees at home in accordance with the typhoon's landfall to avoid being affected or injured when they go out in typhoon weather.

4. All plants should inspect the drainage system for rainstorm water in advance to ensure its normal functioning. The Fangchenggang Branch Plant should follow the “Notice on Strengthening Warehouse Management in the Rainy and Typhoon Season” issued earlier to strengthen the rainproof and anti-submerging management of its warehouses and rented warehouses, so as to prevent the raw materials and products from being drenched by leaked rainwater on rainy days.

5. Typhoon weather is often windy and accompanied by heavy or torrential rain, so avoid outdoor motor vehicle operations, especially loading and unloading, as much as possible to avoid accidents.

Pay attention to typhoon information: Listen to and watch the typhoon warning information issued by the meteorological department in time, and learn about the latest typhoon development, the government's typhoon prevention measures, and emergency call numbers.

Stock up on emergency supplies: Prepare food, drinking water, medicines and emergency supplies such as candles, emergency lights, and flashlights in case of emergency.

Reinforcement of easy-to-fall facilities: Check doors and windows for gaps and reinforce them. Fix fragile doors and windows with adhesive tape in the shape of the Union flag. Reinforce outdoor overhanging and overhead facilities as well as makeshift and temporary buildings. Dismantle them if necessary.

Inspection and cleanup: Typhoon weather often brings heavy rainfall. Rooms on low floors are susceptible to flooding, while homes on high floors are prone to rainwater drifting in.
