Ubridge New Material's Speech Contest Themed “Do My Part in Cost Reduction” Successfully Concluded

From May 20th to 21st, Ubridge organized a speech contest with the theme of “Do My Part in Cost Reduction”. A total of 78 staff from the grassroots positions participated in the contest.

The event was organized as the Guangdong Ubridge Division and Guangxi Ubridge Division. A total of 42 contestants from the Guangdong Ubridge Headquarters, Guangdong Ubridge High-tech Factory, and South China Titanium Valley Project participated in the Guangdong Ubridge Division, while 36 contestants from Guangxi Ubridge Fangchenggang No.1 No.2 Plants participated in Guangxi Ubridge Division.

The contestants focused on the theme “do my part in cost reduction” and explored the practical wisdom of cost reduction and efficiency enhancement from the perspective of grass-roots staff, forging a cultural consensus that “everyone is the subject of cost reduction”.

On the speech stage, the contestants utilized practical cases, truthful emotions, and simple speeches to convey the determination of the grass-roots staff to do their part in their respective positions, starting from the smallest detail and the smallest thing. Lines of the speech rang with their love and dedication to their jobs, demonstrating the cost reduction wisdom of the grass-root staff of “working with care, high efficiency as the foundation, performance as the basis, dedication as an honor, and achieving cost reduction and efficiency by accumulating every little effort".

 Guangxi Ubridge Division

The contest was ranked by on-site scoring according to the performance of the contestants. For each contestant, one highest score and one lowest score were removed, and the average of the remaining judges' scores was taken as the final result. The first, second, and third prizes as well as the encouragement awards were awarded according to the order of the high and low scores respectively.

The event was well received by the enthusiastic staff, with a good number of participants and overall good quality of speeches. Most of the speeches were not only brilliantly written and accurately worded, but more importantly, stuck to the theme with a clear structure, sharp points of view, and novel and in-depth understanding of ideas. For this reason, 10 “Outstanding Speeches” were additionally selected and awarded.

The event received strong support from the senior leadership of Ubridge. A number of senior leaders attended the entire competition event.

At the end of the competition, Mr. Zhang Zhicheng, President of Ubridge, made a concluding remark. Mr. Zhang Zhicheng affirmed the wonderful performance of the contestants for their enthusiastic participation, thorough thinking, and careful preparation. He praised some of the innovative ideas of cost reduction put forward by the contestants, and emphasized that cost reduction and efficiency improvement is “the battle for survival” in response to market competition, “the road of transformation” for management upgrading, and “a commitment of responsibility” in cultural heritage. In the journey of “cost reduction and efficiency improvement”, each Ubridge person is an indispensable force. All the staff should bear their responsibilities and implement the philosophy of “The credit belongs not to any individual, but every individual must contribute”, turning the wisdom of the speech into action on their posts, thereby transforming cost reduction and efficiency improvement from “a slogan” to “a habit”.

Cost reduction and efficiency improvement is not a one-day long-term effort, just like high-quality development of the enterprise cannot be achieved by the work of one person but the entire company. Ubridge aims to utilize this competition as an opportunity to promote the “cost reduction and efficiency improvement” concept throughout the whole chain of business operations, leveraging “micro-action” to gather “big energy”, “small entries” to promote “big change”, “culture” to forge cohesion, and “action” to promote changes. By building an all-staff, whole-process, and comprehensive system of cost reduction and efficiency improvement, the management looks forward to promoting the enterprise toward high-quality development.
