On January 8th, the Maoming Municipal Government held the On-site Exchange Meeting for High-quality Industrial Development of the City’s Counties, and the Three Platforms. The meeting brought together the main leaders of Maoming City and its districts, counties, and platforms, and heads of relevant department to observe, discuss, and exchange the development results of key construction projects and platforms in each county and district. The South China Titanium Valley Project of Ubridge New Material, a key project of Maoming High-tech Zone, was inspected by the delegation.

Mr. Li Chao, High-tech Zone party committee member and Deputy Director of the Management Committee, introduced the industrial development and investment promotion status of the High-tech Zone. Mr. Li Lvhua, Chairman of Ubridge New Material, and Mr. Zhang Zhicheng, CEO & Executive Director, made a report on the construction status of the South China Titanium Valley Project.

As the “chain master” in the industrial chain of the South China Titanium Valley Project, Ubridge establishes its edge on the advantages of the Maoming High-tech Industrial Base and Lingang District, and its large-scale titanium and zirconium beneficiation, reduced ilmenite, synthetic rutile, and iron oxide production capacity. Ubridge is determined to ride the developmental trend of the titanium and zirconium new materials industry, and further extend and supplement the industrial chain to build the country's only port-surrounding whole industrial chain cluster of titanium and zirconium new materials, an ecosystem of “titanium ore - synthetic rutile - titanium tetrachloride - chloride pigment titanium dioxide and titanium sponge - titanium materials, titanium equipment and lithium iron phosphate battery anode materials”.
The main task of Phase I of the South China Titanium Valley Project is to invest from both ends of the titanium industry chain, namely synthetic, rutile and titanium materials and titanium equipment manufacturing, to rapidly establish a titanium-zirconium new materials industrial park in the High-tech Zone.
Phase II of the project focuses on developing leading companies on each node of the industry chain. It aims to increase the overall output value of the industrial chain through upgrading the added value of products by strengthening scientific and technological research and development, constructing supporting titanium-zirconium new materials downstream industrial parks, and introducing downstream industries to supplement, extend, and strengthen the chain.
The South China Titanium Valley Project of Ubridge New Material has a total investment of RMB 18.6 billion, covering an area of over 233 hectares. It is expected to achieve an annual output value of RMB 51.5 billion after commissioning, an industrial added value of RMB 14 billion, a profit tax of RMB 12 billion, and a net tax revenue of RMB 2.65 billion, providing 3,778 people with employment opportunities. It is designed to enable the “chain master” to lead the diverse upstream and downstream supporting industries to gradually form a hundred-billion-scale industrial cluster.

By sharing titanium and zirconium resources and achieving seamless integration and development of upstream and downstream industries through the industrial park, the pattern of “one industrial park covering one major industry of multiple industry chains, one large cluster supported by multiple small clusters” was formed. Mr. Li Chao, who is a member of the CPC Working Committee of Maoming Hi-Tech Zone, Deputy Director of the Management Committee, and the person in charge of communication with the South China Titanium Valley Project, introduced the project to the delegation representatives of the industrial park, which is planned to cover an area of about 667 acres. It is designed to build three industrial clusters: titanium-zirconium ore selection and deep processing, high-value plate materials and downstream industries. The park mainly focuses on the development of the entire titanium-zirconium industry chain, rare earth scandium aluminum alloys, and other advanced new metal materials, as well as downstream equipment manufacturing industries. It actively promotes "chain" investment attraction to create a titanium-zirconium new material industry cluster with an annual output value of 100 billion yuan.
