On December 5th, Ubridge New Material actively responded to the call of Maoming Municipal Health Bureau and organized its staff to join the blood donation activity, further enriching the corporate culture of practicing the spirit of ‘Haoxin Maoming’ and bravely undertaking social responsibilities.
The day before the activity, with the cooperation of the Maoming Municipal Health Bureau, Station Director Mr. Wen Weihua of the city central blood station delivered a special lecture on ‘Blood Donation Knowledge’ for the company's staff, vividly and thoroughly publicizing the significance of blood donation that ‘One gives to others, and others give in return’ and ‘Benefiting both others and oneself’.
To facilitate blood collection, the city central blood station dispatched a blood collection vehicle to the downstairs of the company's office building on the day of the activity. The blood donation site was in an orderly condition, with processes including form-filling, health screening, blood type testing, queuing, blood drawing, resting and etc. All the procedures proceeded smoothly under the guidance of the medical staff.
Most of the employees were donating blood for the first time in their lives. They were somewhat nervous when rolling up their sleeves to expose their arms. However, they gradually relaxed and cooperated earnestly during the amiable interactions with the medical staff. 200cc, 300cc, 400cc... Watching their crimson blood being continuously pumped into the plasma bags through the transfusion tubes, a sense of pride welled up within them.
After donating blood, the medical staff would issue each donor a red ‘Voluntary Blood Donation Card’. Holding the card, they exclaimed excitedly, “we don't know which patient will be helped by today's blood donation. Just a tiny act of love can bring back a critically ill stranger back from the verge of death. Upon reflection, this is truly a source of pride and honor!”
“Voluntary blood donation benefits others as well as oneself... Hereby, we appeal to more warm-hearted people in the community to actively join the ranks of voluntary blood donors, to offer love, convey warmth, save lives and help the injured with us, and jointly contribute to the development of a harmonious society.” Appealed earnestly by Mr. Mo Zhuqing, the Minister of the Administration Comprehensive Department of Ubridge New Material.
According to the statistics, this activity contributed nearly 9,000cc of healthy blood to Maoming city central blood station. The company's management, in order to encourage the staff to actively participate in such public welfare activities, distributed a RMB 300 nutrition subsidy for each employee who donated blood.
