On December 31, 2024, the Guangdong Association for Science and Technology (GDSTA) held the 2024 GDSTA “HOME Program” work exchange activity in Kaiping City, Jiangmen. Guangdong Ubridge New Material Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Guangdong Ubridge) was awarded “Workstation of Help Our Motherland through Elite Intellectual Resources from Overseas” (referred to as “HOME Program Workstation”) in this event, becoming the only science and technology enterprise in Maoming City to be awarded this honor.
The “GDSTA HOME Program Workstation” is an important part of the HOME Program of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), and an important platform to provide overseas intellectual support for Guangdong's economic and social development and the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy. The main task of the workstation is to make full use of the HOME Program of CAST and the resource advantages of overseas scientific and technological organizations and talents of GDSTA. Widely connecting these organizations, the workstation aims to build a platform for the introduction of overseas talents, cooperation in scientific and technological projects, international academic exchanges, and advice and counseling, as well as to organize and carry out international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation through means such as technological introduction and innovation, thematic seminars, and project cooperation.
Organizations declaring “GDSTA HOME Program Workstation” must be an independent legal entity registered in Guangdong Province, which has specialized scientific research institutions and R&D teams, and has clear development goals, clear technological innovation needs, and relevant cooperation projects. The license will be awarded to the declared organization after on-site assessment and comprehensive review by GDSTA experts, public notice of the assessment result, and approval from the GDSTA HOME Program Work Group.
With strong R&D capability and long-term development planning, Guangdong Ubridge has established the Guangdong Engineering Technology Research Center for Titanium and Zirconium Industry jointly with domestic famous institutes, as well as a provincial doctoral workstation and a provincial expert workstation. At present, Ubridge New Material boasts more than 80 scientific and technological personnel and more than 90 independent patented technologies. The two companies are both state-level specialized and sophisticated “little giants” enterprises under the jurisdiction of the same actual controller.
Ubridge New Material will make further efforts on the basis of being awarded the “HOME Program Workstation”, establishing a practical, standardized, and orderly working mechanism of the “HOME Program”. Relying on local innovation and entrepreneurship vectors, the workstation will organize and carry out the work of recruiting talents, and gather international talents and overseas innovation resources to deepen the exchanges and cooperation with overseas scientific and technological talents, so as to make greater contributions to the high-quality development of Guangdong.
